Janine Frampton – ProMed’s newest & experienced Podiatrist
Hi ProMed family I just wanted to say a big thank you for welcoming me with open arms I have meet so many of our wonderful patients and for the ones not met yet I thought I would Introduce myself.
I was born in Manly, Sydney – Yes I’m a beach baby and I feel so happy to be back and close to the ocean. Burleigh is amazing and I’m loving this move.
My father was in the Air Force so we moved around a little, but my formative years were spent in Penrith, Lower Blue Mountains. Newcastle was where I raised my family, then Brisbane for the last 7 years.
“ How did I come to podiatry- Do I have a foot fetish?” is the number one thing people ask me. HaHa.
No – No foot fetish – It was ultimately my burning desire to help people and relieve them of pain. Our feet are so important, and we expect they will work no matter what we do- That’s not the case!
I have had a varied job history but it’s the many years in the retail sector where I developed a passion for footwear and realised the importance it plays within the sporting sector and our day to day living, as well as growing and developing feet.
I embarked on a full-time university degree in Health Science majoring in Podiatry at QUT and with a family and work commitments this was a huge undertaking as a mature aged student, but I was driven because of my passion for podiatry. Podiatry has a highly diverse scope of practice. This is fantastic as no two days are the same. I enjoy working with Kids and their growing feet and I love problem solving with pain management patients with sport injuries, trauma or wear and tear. Diabetes is also a large aspect of podiatry with education, monitoring and prevention of complications a focus.
I graduated 2016 and have been working in Brisbane but am really happy to now be part of the ProMed team. I am looking forward to meeting all our wonderful ProMed patients and providing their podiatry care.
